Reaction Arms
When tightening bolts with high force (such as with a torque wrench or hydraulic tool), an opposing force is generated. Without something to absorb that force, the tool would spin or cause damage. The reaction arm ensures that the counterforce is safely transferred to a fixed point, such as a nearby structural component or machine part.
There are many types and sizes available. Therefore, always ask for our advice.

TPF – Reaction Arm

Safety, accuracy, and speed are highly valued at HYTORC. The result is the TPF reaction arm, where the support is provided using a standard nut cap placed over a nearby bolt head.
Adjustable in length to fit the center distance between bolts.
Safe: Both standard (hex) nut caps are placed over the bolt heads. The chance of the operator getting pinched between the reaction arm and the support point is minimal.
Accurate: The accuracy of the achieved bolt force is improved when supported at a further point. This effect is particularly relevant when the center distance between bolts is small.
Maintenance and wear also decrease when the reaction point is positioned further away, as the sideload decreases, reducing strain on the tool.
No damage to valuable coatings or finished surfaces of your installation parts; support is placed on the (neighboring) bolt, not on the flange, housing, or pipe wall.
Universally applicable
Since the TPF reaction arm works with standard drive square fittings, you can use your own (hex) caps. The TPF can be used with hydraulic, electric, and pneumatic tools.

RFA – Reaction Arm
Safety, accuracy, and speed are top priorities at HYTORC. The result of this is the RFA reaction arm, which allows the use of two wrenches at the same time. Two wrenches can be mounted on the Reaction Fixture Assembly (RFA).
Safer: Since both wrenches support each other, rather than being supported against a fixed point or neighboring bolt, the risk of injury due to pinching is eliminated. Two safety handles optimize safety.
Faster: Tightening two bolts simultaneously.
More Accurate: The accuracy of the achieved bolt force is improved when supported at a further point. This effect is especially significant when the center distance between bolts is small.
Maintenance and wear also decrease when the reaction point is further away. This is because the sideload is reduced, and the tool is less stressed. There is no damage to valuable coatings or finished surfaces of your installation parts; support is placed on the (neighboring) bolt, not on the flange, housing, or pipe wall. The RFA is available in various sizes, making it flexible for different applications. Standard adjustable lengths are available from stock, but any length is possible on request.

Crab nut
The RFA is also available in a U-shaped version. With this so-called crab nut, you can work around reinforcing ribs (or bulkheads).

WTCT – Reaction Arm
The HYTORC WTCT reaction arm is a reaction arm in which support is provided through an adjustable reaction cup. It is adjustable in length to fit the center distance between bolts.
Safe: Because the reaction cup is placed over the neighboring bolt. The chance of the operator being pinched between the reaction arm and the support point is eliminated. Two safety handles make safety optimal.
Accurate: The accuracy of the achieved bolt force is increased when supported at a more distant point. Optionally, one bolt can be skipped, and support can be placed on the bolt next to the neighboring bolt.

Bent Version
In addition to a straight version, there is also a bent version, for example, for bearing blocks. Standard lengths are available from stock, but any length is possible. The reaction cups are available for standard nuts or bolt heads (6- or 12-sided), and also with a pinch cup for hexagon bolts (see image).

Easy to adjust.
Adjusting the flap of the Standard 360×360 reaction arm is simple: press the button, rotate the flap in the desired direction, and release the button. The reaction arm can remain mounted on the wrench while adjusting.

Clever design.
Due to the clever design of the Standard 360×360, the reaction forces do not go through the tool itself. This prevents unnecessary strain on the wrench, allowing it to perform optimally for longer. Because the reaction arm is placed under the housing, it doesn’t take up additional space.
