Hytorc Washer works with a dual nut drive. The outer nut drive bears on the knurled outer edge of the HYTORC Washer, while the inner nut drive turns the nut. This makes the classic reaction arm – the number one cause of finger entrapment – redundant. The elimination of external moving parts makes this the safest bolting method in the industry.
By eliminating the reaction arm, shear and bending forces are avoided, thereby resulting in a more consistent conversion of torque into bolt load. With the HYTORC Washer principle we guarantee accurate and evenly distributed bolt load across the flange. These are the main conditions for a strong and/or leak-proof flange joint.
No more searching for good supporting points for the reaction arm. Simply place the tool on the nut and the bolt connection can be tightened. This makes it the fastest torque system on the market.
The HYTORC Washer is compatible with the ICE, AVANTI, JGUN, LITHIUM and STEALTH models. Available in a nut drive solution and in a ratchet link solution.

Up until now the use of a support arm to absorb reaction forces
was inevitable. Impact wrenches were also required to stop rotation of lock nuts. Both are top causes of finger entrapment. HYTORC Washer renders both superfluous, thereby greatly increasing safety. Working with HYTORC Washer is so intuitive and simple that even less experienced operators can handle it. The hands-free operation virtually excludes personal accidents.
NO FLANGE DAMAGE
Turning a nut can result in wear grooves, high surface tension and indentations on the flange surface. Reworking and subsequent strength calculations are expensive. HYTORC Washer prevents rework, downtime and associated costs. Hardened steel washers provide constant friction. The result is that all nuts rotate with the same coefficient of friction so that the torque is converted into a uniform bolt load.
NO ADVERSE SHEAR FORCES AND BENDING TORQUE
Classic reaction arms cause unwanted forces that tilt and bend bolts. This effect cannot be processed in VDI and ASME bolt load formulas, but they could bring about a deviation in bolt load up to tens of percent.
AT LEAST 2X MORE ACCURATE THAN TRADITIONAL SYSTEMS
By turning nuts with dual sockets (coaxial) on a hardened steel washer, distributed bolt load as indicated is at least halved in VDI2230.
SAVE ON PURCHASING NUTS AND BOLTS
In case of corrosion and dried lubricants, the breakaway torque can be as much as 2x to 3x more than the original torque.
High torque results in high shear and bending forces. Galling then occurs, which requires an expensive response, e.g. burning out of bolts. With coaxial drive no shear or bending forces occur and the bolts and nuts last longer as a result.
EXTENDED LIFE OF YOUR TOOLS
With conventional air and hydraulic torque wrenches reaction arms and square drives are placed on the various sides of the tool and the force passes through the tool housing. These torsional forces deform the casing. With the HYTORC Washer principle this force no longer passes through the housing of the tool, which allows the internal parts to move freely.
When working with HYTORC Washer you can work up to 2x faster. When combined with the innovative Backup Washer a backup wrench is no longer needed.
High wear resistance means that the HYTORC Washer is reusable.

HYTORC Washers comply with ISO7090, ISO4759, ANSI-B18.22.1 and DIN267. In general a washer is recommended according to the ASME PCC-1-2000 and VDI2230 guidelines.
